OrientDB is an open source NoSQL database management system written in Java. It has features of both Document and Graph management, as it’s document-based database, but the relationships are managed as in graph databases with direct connections between records.

OrientDB is incredibly fast: it can store up to 150,000 records per second on common hardware. In addition, this database supports schema-less, schema-full and schema-mixed modes. It also has a strong security profiling system based on users and roles and supports SQL as a query language.

To get your Orient database within Jelastic Cloud you just need to follow the next steps.

OrientDB at Jelastic

1. Log in to your Jelastic account.

2. Use Create Environment button in order to open the topology dialog window for a new environment.

3. Switch to the tab with the preferred programming language and select OrientDB from the list of available databases in NoSQL section. Then set the cloudlets limits for it via the appropriate scrollers, type the name for your environment, and continue by pressing the Create button.

4. Wait until Jelastic finishes the creation.

Now you can use the information you’ve just received via email (like login, password and IP address) to make any required configurations to your OrientDB database server.
