Apache Cassandra database is a NoSQL platform with continuous availability, high scalability and performance, strong security, operational simplicity and lower overall cost of ownership.

The provided linear scalability and proven fault-tolerance on commodity hardware or cloud infrastructure make it the perfect platform for mission-critical data. Cassandra also includes a support of replication across multiple data centers, providing lower latency and the peace of mind of knowing that you can survive regional outages.

With Jelastic it’s easy to get both Cassandra and Cassandra 2 servers just in a few minutes - simply follow the instruction below.

Cassandra at Jelastic

1. Log in to the Jelastic Platform using your credentials.

2. Click the New environment button in the upper left corner of the opened dashboard.

3. In the appeared environment topology dialog box navigate to the tab with preferred programming language and pick the desired Cassandra server version (either or 3.0) in the NoSQL databases section. Next specify the amount of resources needed for your node by means of cloudlets scrollers, choose a region, type name for your environment and click the Create button.

4. When environment is successfully created, you’ll receive an email with your Cassandra server’s data: DNS address, IP address, port number it can be connected through, and access credentials.
